    Dear Hand and hide.

    I saw the email I got and thought it was a good time to write this.

    The reason I ordered this product from hand and hide is that there are not many companies that sell iPod Classic cases anymore. However, the biggest reason is the pleasure that the goods by the handwork of artisans bring.

    While all products have been replaced by automation for mass consumption, the work of artisans has a presence that cannot be acquired by machines that follow the blueprint. It seems to represent human nature itself in the sense that it is not perfect (in a good way). The distortions and errors unique to hand stitching, on the contrary, give warmth and tenderness to the fact that someone has indeed made it.

    In Japan, where I live, I have an image of traditional craftsmanship, which is probably well known around the world. However, every country has become so homogenized that we no longer have the opportunity to experience the culture of such handicrafts. Nowadays, elementary schools teach programming, not clay crafts. In such a cold age, hand and hide is a precious company that continues to make products with a strong will to value handwork.

    In a time when we are cut off from meeting people, high quality products that allow us to feel the presence of others are enriching our lives at least a little. Thank you very much. Please take good care of yourself.

    Really fantastic quality. Just a wonderful product. If im nitpicking i would only say that on the inside the leather is left undyed. But that just might be a feature as opposed to anything else. Its an amazing piece of art...No plastic...solid fit. Exceptionally well crafted. I will be buying all my cases from here and i already have purchased another! Great workmanship.

    You can identify these iPods by their plastic front face (vs. the aluminum front face on the iPod Classic models)

    ~iPod Classic (6th Gen) 80gb or 160gb
    You can distinguish the iPod classic from the iPod (5th Gen) or the iPod Classic (7th Gen) by the last three digits of the serial number. The iPod Classic (6th Gen) serial number's last three digits will be one of the following: Y5N, YMU, YMV, or YMX.
