Out with the Old, In with the New...
New Year brings a new space! It seems an appropriate time of year to make some changes. This impending change was not a choice of mine, but, nonetheless, is a big step forward for me personally and especially for my business. My old studio is no longer in existence; the garage I had been making out of was torn down in order to make room for new development. Such is the state of things in Portland, OR these days.
However, I was very fortunate to find a stellar new studio space in the Ford Building on SE 11th & Division- just scant blocks from my house! They used to build Model-T's here starting in 1915. Nowadays, it's full of small businesses like myself - lot's of artists and design folks, so it's a nice creative atmosphere. And they've got a killer cafe called Ford Food and Drink on the first floor - I bet I'll be having lot's of lunches there! :)
Stay tuned to see how Hand and Hide develops in this new space. I'm sure a change of scenery along with the company and influence of so many amazing creatives will have some impact on my work so keep an eye out for new goods and events!
