Power of the Purse 2014 - Part Two: The Event
It was a great event last night, with record-breaking funds raised for Girls Inc. For my part, my bag sold for $2750 (fifth out 14 bags) and Shanin Prusia (with whom I collaborated on the design of the bag) matched the winning bid with a cash donation in addition to buying another bag (her husband also bought a bag bringing their combined contribution for the evening to just about $10K.) I got to meet the lady who bought my bag after the show. She wasn't planning to bid and misplaced her bidder number and when she saw my bag being modeled on the runway by Council Girl Mia, she decided that she had to have it. She ended up borrowing a friends bidder number so she could bid in time. Well done!
